It has attracted many users due to its ease of use. Mambo also includes more advanced features such as page caching to improve performance on busy sites, advanced templating techniques, and a fairly robust API.

Administrator Discount record PDF Print E-mail
There is a discount record of only one user, chief administrator, in just loaded mambo version: the name of discount record and password, specified during the installation.
There are 3 groups of users who have an access to the admin part of the site: Manager, Administrator, and Super Administrator.  Super administrators have access to all the functions of the site. The users of this group can not be deleted or mowed to the other group.
Administrators have limited access to the administrative functions of the site in comparison with the previous group.  They do not have access to the following functions:

  • To add or edit the users in a group of super administrators;
  • To get an access to the global adjustments
  • To make mass mail dispatches
  • To make a setting and management of the templates.
  • To make a setting and management of the translations files.

Managers are limited in access to the  function of creation site content. The users of this group other than the limitations for the administrators can not

  • Manage users
  • Set modules
  • Set components
  • To manage some components (the level of access is  defined by super administrators

Basic conception

The section of the administrator is  the centre of site administration on basis of Mambo. All the changes and publishing of content are made with the help of this section elegant interface. Section is a number of categories which have common sign.  For example News section may contain “today news”, “yesterday news” and “Just news”.

Given section is divided into:

  1. Menubar,
  2. Toolbar,
  3. Infobar
  4. Workspace.

Menubar

Site – in mambo terminology we understand under the term site its part which is accessible for lookup by user or visitors where all the content from the database is published by the admin. This part is often called “front” or “front-end”
Modules broaden Mambo opportunities, increasing its functionality. Modules integrate into the template and reflect the specific information, extracted or generated  from the dominant database. Modules are set in the control panel. The standard supply consists of modules: main menu, top menu, change of the template, vote, counter of visiting, and announcements etc. there exist great number of another developers modules.
There is a built in dropdown menu. The only exception is “help division”. Menu field is a main device of control panel navigation.

Tools field

  • To publish – icon making  the category or object accessible for the users.
  • Cancel publishing – the icon canceling the access  to the category or object  for users (the objects and categories are not deleted).
  • Archive -  the icon  moving the object to archive
  • New object – starts the procedure of  new object creation, division, link etc.
  • Editing – allows editing existing objects.
  • Delete -  deletes the group of objects  or section, and also single objects of the site.  
  • Remove – allows  to remove  the object  to the new section  or category
  • Save – saves  created object  or the results of editing.
  • Cancel – cancels  the procedure of object creation or editing.
  • Preview – reflects popup window where the results of object change will be shown. 
  • Downloading  – allows to download the  file on the site

Note: while editing  of the objects use the button “delete” but not “back” in your browser.

Information space reflects as follows:

  • The name of your site
  • current location in admin section
  • reflects the name of the user, for example: 'Logged in as Admin'
  • number of messages from other administrators sending messages  through My Admin section.
  • Number of on-line users.

Working space

Situated under menu and tools field which changes depending on  the chosen menu point or during the usage of a certain tool.
